RSC is one of the North West region’s leading independent hybrid service centres for Volkswagen Group (VAG) vehicles, including VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda. Our fully trained and qualified TechSafeTM technicians are able to competently and safely carry out hybrid car servicing, hybrid diagnostics and hybrid car repair at our modern facility near Burnley, Lancashire.
Hybrid service
Hybrid vehicles have different servicing requirements to traditional, combustion engine-powered vehicles, but still require regular maintenance to ensure smooth running.
Our interim and full hybrid car service packages are equivalent to the services we offer for traditional petrol and diesel vehicles, but we’ll also carry out a full health check on components related to your vehicle’s hybrid capability. This will include assessing high voltage cables for wear and tear, checking the condition of the charging point and charging cable and ensuring that the inverter coolant level is as specified by the manufacturer. We’ll also assess the road wheels for brake binding, as the physical brakes in hybrid vehicles only operate at low speed and as such, can accumulate debris and rust through lack of use.
Your service will be carried out according to the manufacturer’s specification by a fully qualified, TechSafeTM registered technician using diagnostics tools designed specifically for your VW, Audi, SEAT or Skoda.
Hybrid diagnostics
We’ve invested heavily in the tools required to diagnose even the most complex vehicle faults and have a reputation throughout Lancashire for tackling issues that even the main dealerships struggle to resolve.
Our highly trained technicians have extensive experience working on hybrid vehicles and we rarely come across an issue we haven’t encountered previously. In many cases, customers travel significant distances to access our hybrid diagnostics service, having spent time and money failing to get a resolution at another garage. Where some workshops use a process of elimination to address issues, simply swapping parts until the issue appears to be rectified, here at RSC we use the latest diagnostics technology to quickly identify the problem before carrying out a cost-effective repair.
Aspects of the vehicle we’re able to monitor include:
- Battery cell performance and charging efficiency
- Hybrid vehicle torque delivery
- Electric motor issues
- Electrical component issues
- Software and firmware updates
- Navigation/autopilot updates
- Software patches to address errors
- Inverter coolant levels
- Thermal management
- High voltage safety
Hybrid repair
In addition to the wide range of general repair and maintenance tasks that we’re able to carry out, we also offer hybrid car repair to address issues specific to self-charging and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
Due to the nature of working with high voltage electricity, hybrid repair can be somewhat more complicated than repairing traditional combustion engine-powered vehicles. However, our experienced technicians are equipped with the isolated tools necessary to competently and safely effect hybrid repairs. They’re also TechSafeTM registered and have been awarded Level 1-4 qualifications by the Institute of the Motor Industry.
Where parts, lubricants or other consumables require replacement, we will use Original Equipment (OE) as specified by the manufacturer, unless otherwise stated.
